As a private school with a growing enrollment of students in Grades 7 to 12 looking for an advanced education that links the disciplines of athletics and enriched academics, The Hill Academy commissioned a feasibility study to explore a 150,000 sq. ft. addition to The Sports Village complex in Vaughan that will become its permanent facility suitable for 450 pupils.
As a supplement to the study, a conceptual image and architectural vision will also be established for the addition. The building’s proposed program includes 33 classrooms (to replace the existing portable configuration) with a variety of support amenities such as a Learning Resource Centre, Cafeteria, and 75-room dormitory.
There will also be an NHL-sized arena with 1,500 seats and a 7,000 sq. ft. conditioning area for fitness and dry-land training. These amenities will augment The Hill Academy’s use of the four ice pads and fitness area at The Sports Village.
Once completed, this addition will provide The Hill Academy with the necessary facilities to expand its enrollment and enhance its athletic training focus on hockey and lacrosse.
